Meet Kendra, our amazing field crew manager!

Where are you from, and what brought you to the farm?
I’m from Eugene originally, and I came to work on the farm because I love vegetables. I used to work in kitchens, and my favorite part of the day was when the farmers would bring the boxes of produce in the back door. So I just slowly transitioned over many, many years, and I’m finally a real farmer!
What’s your favorite farm task and why?
My favorite farm task is pruning tomatoes because it smells really good, and I just enjoy it. It’s something I’ve done a lot of over the years, and I can do it really quickly. I kind of know what to expect every time. It feels comforting.
What’s your favorite way to cook or enjoy our produce?
My favorite way to enjoy our produce is to cook and season it minimally. It’s really delicious as is, and so I tend to just prepare a vegetable on its own with some salt and pepper. I like the flavor of the vegetable to shine and not be hidden behind anything else.
What are you most excited about this season?
This season, I have been most looking forward to working with all of our farm staff who have stayed on to work another season. That was really exciting to me this year, that so many people that were new hires in 2025 were able to stay and get new responsibilities and positions on the farm and really tie in. We’ve developed a great community. It's been great getting to see people shine in their new positions and continue to develop that trust and camaraderie that you tend to miss out on when everyone is new every season.
Do you have a favorite saying or quote?
My favorite quote is from Ralph Waldo Emerson who said, “The reward of a thing well done, is to have done it.”
