Meet the Staff: Veronica

Meet Veronica, a member of our rockin' field crew!

Where are you from, and how did you come to the farm?

I'm originally from Houston, Texas. My first encounter with Upriver was through an "Understanding Place" class at U of O. I've become very passionate about sustainable agriculture as well as food sovereignty and centered my college career around it. I wanted to experience farming at a larger scale, and Upriver has allowed me to fulfill this while expanding my agricultural skills.

What has been your favorite moment on the farm so far?

My favorite moments on the farm have been early in the morning, still filled with dew. As I'm harvesting, I look further past the field and see beautiful tall trees. I notice the birds chirping, the river flowing, and a gentle breeze graze me. This is what heaven is made of.
